The easily-possessed Caretaker living on the premises tends to ‘walk around’ and do all sorts of spooky things to keep residents up at night when he’s asleep. Set off the fire alarm, slam doors, empty their fridges! Not to mention the accommodation is just perfect after a lovely mischievous activity.
